Hi, I'm Nicole...New here as well as to starting my salt water aquarium...Started small (16 gallon bow front) to make sure I could make a go of it! So far so good...Don't have much in the tank (mostly because it is small and I"m just starting out). So far we just have 3 live rock, a few hermit crabs, 2 damsels (1 black and white and one blue). And one six liner wrasse. So far only problem we have ran into is green alage :squigglemouth:. However, when we first started the tank it was in front of the window, I have since moved it. So, hoping for some results...Any tips or info please feel free to throw my some suggestions! Thanks!

Ok so you do remember me saying I"m new right? :squigglemouth: I have no idea what any of that is because our lfs that we went to never explained that any of that needed to be tested and what we need to test it!! :embarassed: So right now, all I test is the salt which is where it's supposed to be. I just do a 20% water change to see if it helped with the green algae, (as well as moving the tank from away from the window which I did about a week ago). So far no difference. I know the lighting makes a big difference, and right now we only have T8 lighting and it's only on maybe 4 hours a night. (Told to reduce as much as possible due to the green algae, and being we have no coral yet, that light was not necessary yet). I feel like a complete fool not knowing about testing the water for those things, as I have and still have freshwater as well and know you have to test freshwater!! Well on the plus side my 3 fish must be pretty tough as no issues with them in the past almost 2 mths that I have had the tank up and running :caked: And my water temp stays right around 78-80 (which is where lfs told us it should be set at).....So, ready, set, GO....with what all you can help me with!!?? Thanks!
