Hi there. I live in frederick maryland and have recently decided to start my first reef tank. I have researched for years, and have had freshwater before. I have found a lot of valuable information on this site, and it seems to have a lot of support and love.

Anyway, I'm looking at a nuvo 38 gallon with skimmer, a skkye dual LED, power heads and stand. Any suggestions for a beginner such as myself?

Hey there and welcome to the forum!! There is an absolute wealth of information on here, so you are definitely in the right place! I'm just up the road from you a bit in Hagerstown, so let me know if you have any questions.

As far as your tank decision, I'm a big fan of virtually all of Innovative Marine's aquariums. While I don't own one personally, I think they bring a lot to the table.

With regards to lighting, what are you trying to achieve with this tank? Fish only, FOWLR, softies, LPS, SPS, Mixed reef? The Skkye LEDs seem awfully expensive... I might suggest you look at Kessil for lighting a tank light that. Sleek styling and plenty of options to create exactly what you want.
