Ok I have just bought 2 new hydra 26 HDs to put over my 75 gallon mixed reef. I I'm just wounder about mounting hight over water? How high should I mount the lights? I'm using the AB+ spectrum from the BRStv youtube video and have ths acclimation setting at 50% set for the next 4 weeks. Any help would be great :) thanks

Do you just have hydras or do you have hydras with t5s?

I am running the AB+ without the red or green and currently have the UV and blues at 50% with white at 12%. Here is the settings.

I'm at 12 inches off water level. Should I come down a few ?
With a mixed reef 12 is probably fine. I'm closer as my tank is sps dominant:)

Would you recommend I run T5s? I know a lot of people have mentioned that but I cant tell why you would if you have the needed par? I might add some diffusers but I wanst sure about t5s
Will LEDs alone grow coral, absolutely. But as your frags start turning into colonies and your tank starts getting full, the single point light source of LEDs means that as your corals get bigger shading becomes an issue. Adding in T5's helps to cover the shaded areas that LEDs cant reach. It also gives out a perfect spectral blend which your corals will appreciate

Ok are there any good "cheapish" t5 fixtures you would recommend? How many and what kind of bulbs? 10k and the blue actinic seems to be what I am finding people like on some t5 post.

I have a 65 gallon with two HD primes and T5’s over my SPS about 7 inches and they’re doing great. You should have no problem whatsoever with those 26’s.
Awesome thanks for the pic too! Tank looks amazing!
