New IM 14 Peninsula build

Quick update then i will update fully tonight but apparently my 3 year old newphew got up this morning after i had left for work and decided to rearrange my scape i was mostly able to fix it but one of the two pillars just would not stay and i am currently out of the epoxy. Ill post pics once the tank is no longer cloudy.

Day 6 update

After a minor export of nitrates due to the water loss from working on the rocks my params are off a little but nothing a water change wont fix.

Salinity - 1.023
Temp - 77.8
Ph - 8.2
Ammonia - 0.5 i added some more food last night
Nitrites - 0.5 ppm
Nitrates - 0 ppm
Kh - 10
Calcium - 400

Day 7 update

Salinity 1.024
Temp 77.9
Ph - 8.2
Ammonia - 0.5 ppm
Nitrites - 0.5 ppm
Nitrates - below 5 ppm
Kh - 10
Calcium - 400

Looks nice. I'm on day 7 as well. I commend your dedication I can't test water daily it would drive me crazy lol.
Not testing daily drove me crazy. Plus its a basic test kit that probably isnt as accurate as salifert but it is fast and easy.

Alright its that time again

Day 7 update

Salinity - 1.025 added too much back in after the incident the other day. But its still a good level and should level off after a water change.
Temp - 77.5 Farenheit
Ph - 8.0
Ammonia - 1.0 ppm finally got it up some to finish the cycle after adding alot of food to the tank
Nitrites - 0.5 ppm
Nitrates - still below 5 ppm
Kh - 10
Calcium - 420

Heres to another week of cycling

Day 8 update

Salinity - 1.025
Temp - 77.2 Farenheit
Ph - 8.0
Ammonia - 0.25 ppm
Nitrites - 1.0 ppm
Nitrates - Below 5 ppm
Kh - 10
Calcium - 420

So no update on day 9 as i fell asleep after work but i do have a small update for day 10

Salinity - 1.025
Temp - 77.9
Ph - 8.2
Ammonia - 2.0 ppm
Nitrites - 1.0 ppm
Nitrates - below 5 ppm
Kh - 10
Calcium - 460

High mate, just my 2 cents off to a great start.

To save you a little money. Stop testing your nitrates until after your amonia and nitrite cycle is done. There is really no need to test this now. Just saving you a few tests at this stage

Sorry about missing two days worth of updates so the recap is nothing different.

And now for Day 14 Update

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 77.4F
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 2.0 ppm
Nitrites - 2.0 ppm
KH - 10
Calcium - 420

So heres to the continued cycle and a better week next week.

Day 15 Update

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 77.7 F
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 2.0 ppm
Nitrites - 5.0 ppm
Nitrates - 5.0 ppm
KH- 10

I will stop updating calcium as it is not going to change much till i have coral or coralline algae growth. I will update Nitrates whenever I have an increase or water change, and on the note of water changes should I do one before the cycle completes or wait till it has finished.

Update from yesterday 2/25/19

Day 16
Salinity - 1.023
Temp - 77.9
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 2.0 ppm
Nitrites - 5+ ppm
KH - 9

So i had a small drop in salinity and Alkalinity.

Alright now for the Day 17 update

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 78.3
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 1.0 ppm
Nitrites - 5+ ppm
Nitrates - 20 ppm
KH - 10

Yesterdays drop on SG and KH seems to just been an anomaly, but on another note I have had my first spike of nitrates so another day closer.

As the cycle continues I would like to hear what some of yalls favorite corals are for a nano tank. Once it completes i will begin to add the CUC a couple at a time and once the entire CUC is in place I will wait a few weeks and introduce the first fish and the first coral.

Alright i forgot to make an update yesterday soooo

Day 19 update

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 78.1
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 0.5 ppm
Nitrites - 5+ ppm

Do you feel like you get a good spread over the whole footprint of the tank with the AI? Looking at one of these tanks and I love that light
