Hey reef community I recently got a new job in New Jersey, I'm currently in the D.C. Area so it's not a far move.
My current reef tank is a sps dominated 40 nuvo, and I plan on upgrading after the move, so my thought is buy a small pico tank just to keep some of the high end frags I really like, because it will be a lot easier to move. But I am afraid I will lose everything in a pico tank.
So my question is, is the pico/nano tank a good idea? If any tank recommendations and any tips on keeping sps in a small tank

. My last place, I moved a 90g SPS dominated tank. I didn't want to move frags because they would be more stressed IMO. I took as many colonies off of the rock work as I could. I had a frag tank running so that really helped. When the day came, I put rock with fish, inverts and some macro into a couple of totes. All my coral was put onto racks in a tote and wedged in there. As soon as I got to my new assignment, I put everything in my frag tank and used the established rock in the sump. If I had started to lose any coral, I would then frag off a few to save the piece. I lost a couple of things but nothing major. It sucks in the end because you have to multi task and keep track of everything. It will look messy but in the end it will work out. Hope this helps.
