New juvenille clown fish going crazy!

i turn only one nero 5 and my black storm seems more comfortable hes swimming freely without staying at corner of tank. It still doesnt go bottom part of tank but i guess mabye its a flow issue? 60% and 50% of nero 5 is roughly 1579gph and 1466 gph for each pump. Do you think thats too much flow for red sea 250?

If turning off the flow helps him then it’s fine. He will get stronger very fast. If the flow you had before was good for your coral then turn it back on when he gets stronger. Call the store where you got him and ask what he was eating. Watch that blenny, mine always stays at the bottom but I spied on the tank from behind the couch and the blenny was shooting up and pecking at the clownfish

i turn the flow back and he staying at the corner again lol. At least his eating so i will get something suitable for his bite size. my bi blenny is the nicest fish i ever had. hes like a dog knows when its feeding time! thank for all the reply guys!

I got a black storm clownfish yesterday and its going nuts! Its constantly swimming at top of the tank and wont go bottom of the tank. Im worried it might die due to lack of energy because its been doing that for a day already. i know clowns tend to do that in new environment but in my personal experience if the fish cant calm and settle within few days most of them didnt survive. i also put it in acclimation box but its headbutting the floor trying to get out so i eventually let him free. I paid a big buck for the clown and im not sure whats causing this problem. All others fish and inverts corals are doing wonderful and my water parameter is pretty good.

Clown fish are strange. Make sure parameters are all in check!

Watch the Blenny. I have one and he is a real prick to my clowns when I had them in a 45g. Moved to a 130 and now they don’t bother each other. I got a pair of storms for my 45g reboot and they acted very similarly to yours with them eating and spitting out the food including matching the hatchery diet. Eventually they come around. I just fed heavy and tried to not freak them out as much as I could. By moving it in and out of the acclimation box it is probably stressing it more. I would suggest trying an auto feeder since he is also probably a bit scared if every time you come near it you come at it with a net or fiddling with its new home. Helps it get acclimated for that type of behavior.
