I recently switched to buying my calcium hydroxide from eBay. You can pretty much get a 5o lb bag delivered (Mississippi lime) for around 100 dollars. So far my sps corals seem to like the switch. I will update with any changes, but so far so good. Thanks!

Mississippi Lime is an option for calcium hydroxide. Be aware, however, that recent testing by Bulk Reef Supply suggests that Mississippi Lime has some elevated levels of contaminants that might be problematic in your tank, depending upon the quantity dosed. If you take a look at the results chart that BRS produced, Ms. Wage's Pickling Lime, a food-grade calcium hydroxide supplement, compares favorably the BRS's pharmaceutical-grade supplement. Ms. Wage's has the benefit of being more widely available and generally cheaper than the pharma additive as well.

The Mississippi Lime will likely work, but due to the order quantity and potential impurities, Ms. Wage's might be a better choice depending upon an aquarist's circumstances

So food grade Mississippi lime is safe to use in our reef tanks?

I used it for more than 10 years and recommend it. I didn’t watch the BRS video closely enough to know which of the many Mississippi Line Co products they tested, but I’d be really disappointed if it wasn’t the food grade since that is what most folks using that manufacturer get.

Link to buy??

That's the problem that ultimately caused me to find another supplier. Back when I was using it you needed a big bulk buy, and the local reef club got a ton. I got one or two 50 pound bags, but it eventually ran out. I switched to BRS, which worked fine, but not noticeably differently.

Thanks Randy.
would this work…

If you accept that it really is food grade, then yes. But some folks report problems with random repackaged chemicals from Amazon.
