What are your parameters and did you add anything or do a water change prior ? Also was or is there anything nearby that could have stung it ?

Parameters are fine and i have another kenya frag in the tank and that one is doing great but this one is acting weird and no i did not do a recent water change but i put in most of the water that the coral came in into the tank.

When you say you put most of the water back into the tank that it came in with , first that was two days ago and second did you dip the coral and add that in with the water that it came with and how long did you acclimate to your tank water parameters not just temp ? Still would like to know your parameters . Also you didn’t mention if there is anything near it that could have reached out with a stringer tentacle that could have stung him .

I can test my parameters in a second if you want but there is nothing to sting it in the tank unless other sections of kenya trees can sting other colonies and third i have heard that you dont have to acclimate corals. I did not acclimate my other frag and hes doing great.

Usually when it’s fine and then it’s not I would look at water parameters , second I would look to see if something might be stinging it . Third is there some fish in the tank ticking it off or fourth it might not like where it’s positioned in the tank

Leave it alone. They can do this every time you mess with them. They also do it occasionally when you don’t mess with them.

I’m not sure where you heard that you don’t have to acclimate !!! That to me is wrong info if you want to give a coral a chance in its new home . The acclimation process is very important and should preformed slowly over 1to 1 1/2 hrs min . I never put any water that came with the coral in the tank .
. At the least after acclimation is to dip the coral so as to not introduce problems into the tank let alone try to eliminate anything that might be on the new coral , then rinse well in a separate container of tank water before putting it in the tank .

Oh ok that makes sense cause i just moved it a little because i wanted it next to the other frag. Light is about to go off so i think it will be fine thanks.

Ok i will acclimate from now on with corals.

Just needed to let it settle and acclimate, its doing great now, now it just needs to spread everywhere in my tank.

NO.

Ash : You still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you? The perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility.

Lambert : You admire it.

Ah, yes. You should watch the conclusion of Alien to find out what happens you place a ravenous alien inside an enclosed space with lots of hiding spaces. Make sure you install a vacuum pressure airlock into your tank so you can blast it out into space if you need to! If you don't there will be sequels. Lots and lots of sequels.
