With LEDs it's almost never about par (most run them at about 50-75% plenty of par) and almost always about shading, coverage, and blend. The coverage is not better its about the same, the blend was already great...and unless they are prefectly spaced perfectly for your tank you could lessen shading by properly spacing the 360Xs. So unless this comes in at $800 or less I would just take 2 of the 360x instead.

I was told by a Kessil rep at ReefStock that pricing is going to be VERY similar to the the AP700. Seeing it in person, I personally loved the look of the fixture as well as the spectrums. Very natural shimmer lines, but that is no surprise, the shimmer has always been great on these lights from Kessil.

Oh isn't that just dandy. They rushed the release of the AP700 on many Kessil users, took our money, did not work on the issues that loyal customers brought to their attention..............meanwhile had the time to make different lights and now came out with the replacement to the AP700. Thanks Kessil..................I think I'll look at EcoTech for my next light.

If it is anything similar to the Ap700, then the led matrix is different the the A360X's. The Ap700 had more leds in the matrix, which Kessil claimed had some advantage over the A360X. But I can not remember what it was. With that said, I am with you. I bought 4 A360X's, as I did not think the Ap700 had any advantage over the the A360x's.

Which issues? I own 5 AP700s and have had great success with them. Only one issue with the red moonlights not working right on a couple units and Kessil support was quick to replace them.
Genuinely curious what upset you enough to jump to a different brand. Especially since I’m considering buy 5 of the AP9X

For my Red Sea Reefer 450, the light has served me ok, the app however is terrible. I've talked to Kessil in the past and they said they were working on it and firmware updates were soon to come, but there has not been any in a while. I'm a MAC user, and Kessil only speaks to Windows as far as firmware updates. Other peeps have had different issues, but for me the app could use some TLC. I'm on the fence about replacing the Kessil with Scotch Radions..........but from what I hear the grass isn't greener over there either. I just wish Kessil would offer more product support on their older line of LED's instead of pumping out replacements.

I do not know the release date. But I am assuming that it is really soon. As Mr. Saltwater just did a video about one. And he physically had one in his office in the video.

ok I hope or there just trying to pull some spot light off the G5’s
I was waiting for new a new 700 and that they didn’t come out with one starting to think about going the g5 route

now I’ll wait

This is just my personal opinion, but as someone who has worked in the electronics and engineering field for 20 years, I don't ever want something brand new as soon as it comes out. More times then not, there are problems with the first ones. And as you said, they may be pushing up their deadline because of the G5 release.

$800+ for essentially an AP700 with Apex control-ability... I'll pass. My 700s will work fine until I decide to upgrade to orpheks

Yeah, I'm confused why the made the 7's not apex ready then 9's apex ready. I do not have a 7, but have the 360X's which use the same app as the 7's, and I think it works really well.
