Every one seemed too like the a a350 but their was only one thing wrong you had to manually dim it and you couldn't do sunrise and set but notes theirs a a360 that can be dimmed from 0-10 volt wire i might use this instead of halides on my frag tank build

I bought 2 A350W last year for my 75 rimless which is great, but like you said, the manual tuning for each fixture is a pain. Especially when every one is trying to be more efficient with time management and tech saviness. the additional expense for the mount is also annoying, but for a rimless, it was the best choice given that i have very high ceilings, mounting wise.

Yes it is a pain but i was waiting until they came out with the a350 that was dimmable by controller and i think is wonderful and i may be getting these but it depends on price tho too and in sure its going to be a pretty penny

I'm excited and all for this new light and about time they came out with a controllable option, but it does really kind of suck at the same time because the 350 hasn't even been out that long and then they suddenly drop a controllable one out of the blue? It's not so nice for those who spent on a 350 (or multiples) recently thinking they wouldn't need to upgrade soon and then find out only a few months later there's a controllable version now and theirs is now an outdated version. The 360 is only $50 more, it's not exactly the largest price gap to make the difference in a majority of sale purchases from a 350 to 360. Guess the perk here is that those who don't want a controllable fixture can now find them on craigs in the nearby future more often and at a better price.

I haven't been on ReefBuilders etc for awhile, but I did not see any hints from Kessil that the controllable unit was around the corner publicly. Has anyone heard any news before they announced it?

According to Reefbuilders website, "The A360N and A360W start shipping in the U.S. market before the end of March at the retail price of $449."

Before the a360N & a360W were announced, I was looking forward to a controllable a350; However, I didn't expect Kessil to update their product line 1 year after the a350's came out.

I have been using (1) a350 on my 40 breeder and maybe purchasing another used one from a R2R sponsor. I thought that I would have Kessil's top shelf LED fixture for a few years before a new design was released. Oh well, with the few new features (dimmable, daisy-chain, Kessil Logic & 30% more power), I don't see spending $449+ tax as a wise choice.

WES: so youre saying that the $50 isnt worth it?! so, controllable, more power, and daisy chain....not worth 50 bucks? I can understand if youre meaning that you wouldnt upgrade, but if you went to buy a new light..you would buy the a350w over the a360w??

@buddy: I had a feeling. I have been in contact with kessil..and they neither confirmed nor denied new products in the works. But, I had the feeling that it would drop this year. Definitely, did not think it was happening this soon!! I was about to order some A350w lights next week! oh well. more research.

Well i was going to fine a used a350 that was in good shape and pay allot less but now its not worth it sense nobody would want to sell these badboys for a while

I should have been clear with my post.

Since I already have the A350, it wouldn't be worth it to sell my a350 and upgrade to the a360.

The a360 after taxes will be around $500, which puts it in the AI Vega territory.

If I didn't have a LED fixture, the $449 price point of the Kessil's would way heavily on my decision.

For my 40 Breeder, I need 2 fixtures and spending $1000 would be crazy on a fixture that is playing catchup.

Kessil's aren't even full spectrum and obviously non upgradeable. They may become the iPhone version of LED lights.

I bet next year, Kessil will offer the fixture in white or black. And the year after it will include weather effects and green and red lighting.

If I had to choose, I would go AI Vega on the high end...possibly the Maxspect Razor on the low end.

I see. Ive heard good things about the vegas. never seen them in action. They are next on my list of lights to get/try.

the razor is a great unit for the price/features.

we have a pair of kessil 350w's over our 75g and love them - looking forward to hearing the feedback on the 360 series (maybe for next tank build... bwahaha)

keeping with my sols for now, but debating is it worth it to go vegas or just resell and go kessils..=(

Tell me bout it, I just purchased a350w two days ago. Then I saw it on reef builders
