yes I used one peice. It was 20x25. The bulkhead are just screwed on. It is rubber on rubber so it seals just as well as glass or acrylic. it is bulkhead then liner then backing then wood.

Keith. your killing me with this build you know. I have been wanting to do something like this outside for years. Natural light and solar powered pumps. Someday so I can swim with the fishes.

just do it. you know your going to anyhow. lol.

tonight when i was doing the tile on the top is was so strange to get into the tank and have a ton of room to walk around. i told my wife you should start a spa service haha

You really should have made it bigger because the pictures make it look small . ;)
Is that a firestone liner by chance? ebay?

this past weekend I

installed a air conditioner

wired a few halide ballast

and hung the light rail with reflectors

my goal was to figure out at last what type if any water cooling i was going to have to go with. At first I got a fair size chiller to handle the cooling but then I thought it would be better to cool the room the tank is in not just the tank itself. This way I will be comfortable AND the water will come down in temp. As of this after noon the garage never went over 78" all weekend and the water temp peeked at 83. I started the halides at 7am and they are still on.

I did this just to see how hot I could get the water. Normaly the lights will not turn on until late afternoon and over night so it can only get better under normal lighting conditions. I keep all my tanks at 82-84 by choice so I am very happy with these results. This means i will not be needing a chiller for the tank which is great.

about all that is left at this point is cosmetics and waiting

How would you go about putting in a window if you wanted to?

Just curious. I just think this would make a great shark lagoon and would want to look in from the side.
