Battling cyano here! I replaced my ATI Aquablue Specials x2, a month ago. Could it be that I got some bad lamps? I've been using the same lamps on this tank for 3+ years. Without issues. Also using 2x Blue+

I did have a Neon Damsel 3 months back that was given to me. It in turn totally tore up my 3yr old sand bed. A SB that had never been disturbed up until that point. I mean there was crap covering my rock! Did 100% WC over the next week to combat any NO3 & ammonia issues. Successfully! Damsel found a new home. But after all this the cyano came.

I've tried 3 days lights out. Only to have it reappear 2 days later. Did 1x ChemiClean treatment, didn't touch it. Ran PhosGaurd. Yes I'm sure it's cyano :)

All this is why I'm wondering about bad lamps....

I've got 1 lil fish that I feed 1x daily.
NO2, NO3 & ammonia all read .0

Nana, have you seen the thread on Nualgi? Its a new product that the company is giving free sample as trial tests. Of course there is always risks with something that is new but some of the folks that have tried the trial have had good results, including cyano. I am in my 2nd week of trying it but I am not having any algae problems. I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained. Anyway, check it out.

Most cyno Issues are caused by excess nutrients, You need to test for nitrates and phosphates. I have found that overfeeding is the most common cause. You say you are doing regular water changes which well help but you need to test your water and then we can determine the cause.
