Hi there I just recently bought 3 new led lights and wondering if I should put all 3 on my tank. I have heard a few people say it would be to much lighting but then I have told to put all 3 of them on.
Here is some information about the new LED lights and my tank
The Led lights are Full Spectrum D120 165Watt WIFI LED lights for reef tanks
They have many different options and timers that I am not to familiar with but I currently have 2 up and are on the sun rise to sun down function and then moon lights at night. They have storm mode and cloud mode and just curious how often if any people set this up.
As far as my tank goes it is an 125 gallon ocean tank
60" X 24" X 18" on top it has a 18" piece of glass in the center
I currently have about 150lbs of cured live rock, several types of mushrooms, fish, anemone , and clean up crew as well. the tank has ben set up for about 25 + years. I did take it down and move it about a month ago but everything is up going well. I had 3 metal halides up on it before as t5 as well until I bought these. If any one could give me some advice on how many of these lights I should have up that would be greatly appreciate . Also if you have a better timing for these lights that would help me out a ton or is it good just to keep them on the sun rise to sun down setting. Also any information on the cloudy effect or lighting would also be great
Thanks in advance and hope to here from you guys soon
Thanks

Could you provide us with some pictures of your setup and the lights please, and we can better help you figure out how to arrange them :)

First off, welcome to R2R....you've come to the greatest reef forum!

I too have a five foot tank and have three of these "165 watt" fixtures over the tank. I'm not running at 100 percent, but have used a LUX meter to set the percent of each channel. Mine are simple pot controlled fixtures, and not the fancy WiFi fixtures. Go for three fixtures a foot or more above the waterline.
