I just recieved my reef radiance dm55 moonlight fixtured and temporarily place them on my tank, they don't seem as bright as my old t5 light over my tank( even if i put the at 100% white and blue), could it just be that i am not used to them, they are extremely bright if you were to look directly into them. any comments would be appreciated

Barring any issues with the fixture, I would be cautious with exposing corals to 100% intensity. LEDs may be deceiving when it comes to luminosity. Ramp them up slowly over time. I heard many horror stories of melting and fading corals. When I made the transition, I started slow. I still have my percentages on the lower side.

thanks, i was told to ramp them up slowly, i was just checking them out and they didn't seem so bright so i just put them all the way up to see how bright they were at full capacity and they look a little dim, it could be me not being used to them. i still have to figure how to hang them perminently if i keep them.

I went from t5s to your same fixture, yea it may seem less brighter, but trust me the DM fixture were way more intense than my T5s. get ready to see crazy growth as well compared to T5s

You cannot go by what the eye sees. I had a similar look when I went from T5's to LEDs a couple years ago. However, I know from the PAR numbers Apollo published on it's light that even though the light didn't look as bright, the PAR was through the roof.

thanks, thats what i want to hear, I know their bright i am still seeing spots an hour later and only glanced at the led lights for a second or 2.
