New LED setup for the beast

Thought I would post up some of the pictures of the LEds going together in case anyone decided to give it a shot themselves.
Got all the emitters and wire and pre tinted them, this way you dont loose so much heat to the sinks when doing the final solder
then cut all the wire to the required length and color coded it with the leds.
Anyway started gluing down the leds to the small heat sinks.
Then running the wire and soldering them to the glued down emitters
Then some wire for the blue lights
First pair down couple hundred to go, lol

Ok so a little update.
So the wiring is done on the heat sinks now.
Time to spread them out so we can get the going of the frame work that will hang over the tank.
So the fixture will span 7 feet, so we will have about a 2 inch gap between each 12 inch pad. Their will be a 6 inch span between the front pads.
The plan is to have the different pads be able to individually rotate so I can dial in the light based on my rockwork now and then as the coral grows, the lighting caan adjust with it. So Guerry has come up with a nifty plan to do this and not effect the fans and such on top of the sinks.

Killer build, very well thought out!!
Only thing I hate about big led diy builds... no matter how much planning you do, and how pretty you make the wires, there are still a bundle of wires on the heatsinks connecting the strings. Somebody needs to make a PCB for crees to be mounted for the DIY crew.

Ahh I think we can make the wires look a bit more finished, here is a quick update.
Anyway got some work done on the main box, which will hold all the drivers and the smaller 12 inch pads.
Attached all the drivers to it
Drilling and tapping for the light mounts
Some brackets
and then mounted the 12 inch sinks to the box

and this one shows the ability to angle the sinks to the rockwork and then adjust as growth occurs
Ahhhh and now for the total assembly. This one shows the full brackets that will hold the box with the 12 inch sinks and the the 2 foot sinks at the front of the tank angled backwards.
