I'm about to upgrade the lighting for my 3ft tank.
(3ft x 2.6ft high)

I am currently leaning towards either
- 2 x Kessil A360X or
- 2 x AI Hydra 32HD

I'm unsure if having the 2 x Hydra 32HD is overboard?

Only reason I started with my interest in Kessil is that I have been offered 1 x second hand model + mounting arm + controller, which saves me a little. bit of money, and all I have to do is purchase another Kessil.

I'm partial to hydras myself....you could do 2 26s as well. Might be a bit cheaper...

Im partial to hyrdas as well. They have great customer service. I have over the last year, had power outages. For what ever reason, the surge seemed to cause the fan to quit working. All three of my 52's have been returned and replaced free of charge. I love there service and highly recommend.

Do you have the extra money where you can afford to be cheap with used LED lights? Most work for a good time outside of warranty, but there are some failures with every kind of unit. If you won't be able to afford to replace one, then get a new one with a warranty.

Other than that, please let us know what you are planning on keeping. For most things, either will do the job. For super high end wall-to-wall acropora tank, either will likely end up in a Hybrid Fixture with some T5s. For the light in the middle (like a mixed reef with a good amount of acropora where you can strategically place them under the lights), IMO the Hydras offer more power.

I have no idea about apps and each has their own thoughts, so only you can choose here.
