New lights. Need some info or opinions.

Hey all, got a set of Steve's LEDS coming for my red sea 130. I have a bit of an algae problem that I'm slowly getting the better of. I have 2 small new colonies of Zoas, 1 paly some mushrooms and a candy cane, a BTA and what is either an LTA or a condylactis.

Right now my lights are on 12 hours and don't have any intensity control. I was wondering where I should start.

The best advice I can give is to always start lower on the new lights and raise the intensity up slowly. You're more likely to harm the corals with too much light than too little.
You could always try setting them with a par meter if you have or can borrow one. Of course I make that suggestion knowing most people don't have one.

Not sure if steves are controllable. If they would be, 40% blue and 5% white and build up 5% per week until desired intensity. Because you are battling algae, keep whites low for now

Thanks yeah they are controllable hurricane controller if that helps. Sounds like a good start point. What do you run on your blues at night?

Lights out at 11pm. You can run a moonlight which is 1% or less during night
