Sb reef sprite in biocube 32 led. Definitely need to get different power cords to route them better. Fan is quiet. Waiting on storm controller. I’ve read to start the whites at 10% but my old lights were brighter than the 10% of these. I’d say at about 40-50% it starts to be brighter. Happy so far with em.

Make sure to run them on low and get a PAR meter if you can. I upgraded my biocube 14 with a high power LED and didn't realize I was baking the corals at 700+ PAR for nearly 9 months. They grew but man, were they bleached. You did a fantastic job on the hole for the heatsink, it looks like a new version of the biocube rather than a hack!

Thanks! I took my time and love modding stuff. Gotta get some different cords and some 90° adapters to clean it up. It’s hard not to crank it up Lol. I’m at 30% now. Seeing how they react.

I know how you feel! I thought mine were not that bright to my eyes and tried to match it to other reef tanks I've had. I was mistaken! I'm sure if you start low and slowly increase you can probably get them to tolerate a higher than normal amount too.

What did you use to make the hole? I used a Dremel but I had a difficult time keeping it from wandering or making wavey lines (I'm sure that has more to do with me than the Dremel though).

I used a dremel with a fiber disc. I had taped off the area and traced the light then just went slow. Used a sanding drum on the corners test fit then sanded slowly till it was snug. Took maybe 30-45 minutes. I know what you mean though. I’ve done similar stuff. Get it nearly perfect and then the bit hogs out more than you want [emoji37]

Thanks for the tips! Your process makes so much more sense, I think I was going at it with that gouging bit that looks like a small cylinder drill bit.

It’s messy and you’ll be covered with plastic but the discs work great.
