Just started a new 29g biocube and added some live rock after a week. I am new to the hobby and need some help!



Have some hitchhikers id like you guys to help me identify. Thank you

Barby thingies

 
Hard to tell what kind of shrimp, but kind of looks like a mantis shrimp. The other kind of looks like apatisa.
 
Ya, I agree that's a mantis. +1 on the appies (except maybe the first one could be something different)

Barby things = Micro brittlestar legs.

Thanks guys appreciate that. I don't have anything else in the tank right now but i hope that i can catch it and just take it back to the lps. any suggestions for dealing with the guy?
 
Mantis Shrimp KIA.... realized he got one of my hermits.... got him out with wooden chopsticks. Are the brittle stars reef safe? @Lionfish Lair and i just saw a centipede looking thing. that fell from the rock as i picked it up from the tank. it was slow with little mouth looking things.
 
Micro brittlestars are safe, yes.

Can I suggest you go here, and scan down through the photos to see if you see anything familiar with the "centipede". Look at the polychaetes.
