New live rock

I just purchased live rock that the seller said was in his take for six years. It has some brown course algae growing on the rock. Should I leave this or remove it? Can anyone identify it from the picture?

That is green star polyps? It doesn’t have the membrane base. It feels and looks more like a macro algae

Remove it. That’s not Gsp. It’s ugly macro algae.

Looks like what is known as chondria or a relative of. A type of algae you want to try and peel off, not pull. You can place rock in hydrogen peroxide solution to make it easy.
