(New) Lux meter with waterproof probe (Milwaukee)

It works, but there is some skepticism on conversion. None of the meters, including par meters read some spectrum of light well. (Blue and red) If you divide the lux number by 44 you'll get a close par. This pic came on the box of my last led. T5s are basically plug and play so what I did was get different measurements in my t5 tank Then made adjustments in strength for the led tank. Also it's good for determining when to change bulbs. But all that said, I bought the new apogee 500.. made for leds, and plan on using the lux meter to make a thread with real conversions to help those that can't afford a good par meter. Many people in this hobby measure everything they can but light, which to me is crazy. Light is just as important as anything, yet have nothing. And although lux meters aren't par meters they are cheap, and they are something.

I down loaded a phone app for sag to read lux until my MW700 comes in and it reads @31~21K @ 9: below my Radions. So I figure I'm getting 500 PAR through open air which I believe to be good for my 24" deep mixed reef tank. Using SPS AB, wide angle lenses at 60% peak.
