Greetings,
Looking for a little advice.

I just added a lyretail hogfish to my QT a couple of days ago (Parameters; Salinity: 1.025; pH: 8.2, ammonia: 0; nitrite: 0; nitrate: 10 ppm). We are going to let him acclimate for a few weeks and keep our eye on him. Just a little worried, he is still hiding behind a couple of the decorations and we haven't seen him eat yet.

I started my aquarium back in September and didn't add fish until November, so I still consider myself rather new to this, especially when it comes to ensuring new fish are doing well.

Thanks ahead of time

Welcome to R2R!
Consider keeping the tank lights off for a few days. Just use subdued room light. What are you trying to feeding it? Most fish cannot resist live black or white worms.

We kept the lights off for the first 24 hours we had'em. Still a little skittish but that I honestly expect.

Feed all my guys frozen mysis and brine shrimp

When I get skittish fish like wrasses, anthias, etc., I leave the tank lights off for at least 3-4 days. Consider trying a fish smoothie. Get 6-8 different frozen fish cubes flavors: mysis, brine shrimp, fish eggs, cyclops, seaweed, chopped clams, etc. Take one of each flavor cube and place into a tupperware. Let it "slump" in the fridge. Add a few drops of vitamins like Selcon, Zoe, etc. Mix a bit. And serve. The mix will stay good for a few days in the fridge. My fish go crazy for the "smoothie."
