New Mag - treat or still acclimating?

Picked up a new mag on Friday. LFS said it had it for 3 weeks and in that time span had a cipro treatment

Drip acclimated it and it seemed to settle in well. Come down this AM to see this.

This is my first mag, I’ve successfully treated carpets and gigs, I have cipro and septra so I can use septra assuming it may be resistant.

Any thoughts?

Another pic. When i turn lights on it seems to perk up a bit and start looking better, but the below doesn’t look good to me.

Treat. A healthy Mag will never look like that. Cipro likely won't work the second go around. That's assuming they actually treated; LFS near me lie their tales off when it comes to nems.

Yeah I think you’re right. Who knows if it was actually treated. I’ll go with septra. I’d rather not wait.

septra is a good combo for a really bad Nem. I would definitely treat ASAP. Start with Septra to slow things down, order the Cipro and go 7 full days with that.

Most LFS I've been to just don't seem to know a whole lot about anemone's, and may not even know how to properly follow through w/ treatment, and it's not even really practical for them to do it from a sales point, so I would not rely on them.

That is definitely a nem in need of treatment

Thanks! I’ve started septra and already have cipro on hand from previously treating haddonis and gigs. Are you saying keep treating with septra and then introduce cipro?

Yeah when I started asking for how long he treated and what his process was his responses were a little shaky. I have cipro and septra in hand already as I’ve learned you really have to expect to treat. This being my first mag I didn’t want to overreact and treat but I think just by looks and everything you all have said this thing needs treatment ASAP.

If you have both on hand I would start treatment with Cipro ASAP. If things aren't turning around by day 4, Throw in the Septra. Glad you're prepared.

Thanks for clarifying. The LFS I bought him from said he treated with cipro, should I just disregard?

If so, should I do a water change and add cipro? I’ve already started septra so not sure if I can add both right now.

Based on what you said I would generally ignore that comment.

Seeing as you already started with the Septra, I would just add the Cipro to it at your nest lights out and consider this dose 1 regardless of where you're at. Treat from 7 days from here regardless of how good it looks.

Day 1

After getting in the HT and dosing septra, I did another water change later that night and started cipro. Will continue with cipro and only add septra again if it worsens.

Huge difference, but don't freak if it deflates again, really common to bounce back and forth beginning treatment, but it looks good so far.

I’m glad you decided to treat right away instead of waiting. Good choice. Today’s pic looks much better than your first pic. I hope it recovers for you, looks like it’s got some nice color to it.

Day 3 (morning after)

Looks better than Day 2...To me Day 1 looked the best, seemed to look a little worse on Day 2, now looking a little better.

Some mags seems to have a protruding mouth I’ve noticed, is this normal or should I disregard until after treatment?
