I got this pair 5 days ago and although it took the female a few days to eat, she now eats small Thera + A pellets with gusto. The male however has not eaten and has been lying on his side, looking miserable.

That's too bad, I actually was just checking on here to see if your clowns were eating yet, does not sound good for the male, I'd probably pull it or at least separate it from your female and hope she does not have issues as well.

Thank you davocean for the kind words. The poor little male didn't make it. I found him stuck to the side of my mo10. The female started eating small pellets on 2/3. She also started eating frozen today. I really want to add another male but don't know when is the best time. I know the new clown has to be a juvenile. After he/it is out of qt I think I should place him in an acclimation box inside the tank and observe the reaction of the female. I have some research to do. I welcome any and all advice

Bummer to hear, but hopefully your female remains healthy.
For some reason clowns are notorious for not eating a few days when new, I see this comment all the time on other sites I've been on over the years, so I usually don't think too much of it, but of course it's in the back of my head there is always potential for issues and of course eating is the first sign we are watching for to feel mostly all clear.
Usually I would not try to pair up again immediately, but if you are doing QT there should be no reason to wait to get that going, but of course there is no rush either, just get a very young new mate
