New Malu

LFS ordered a Malu for me. They held onto it for a week and it didn't appear to have any damage to it's foot. So I brought it home last night.

It's about 6" across when fully inflated. Coloration is a variable mix of creams and tans with green/blue tones at the base of the tentacles and on the oral disc(when it's visible).

Unfortunately my 4" GBR clown took to it instantly. I assumed it wouldn't move in for a couple days

. I've got my gyre shut off to make it easier for it too attach.

Now to reread everything on getting them established.

I'm still thinking it hasn't attached. Some of the inner tentacles are thin/not fully inflated. No gaping mouth though. I'm hopeful it'll settle in OK.

Looking a bit happier today. Still hasn't attached so I'm still unable to turn the gyre back on. I tried to create a rock cradle to keep it in place while it decided to attach, but the clown literally dragged the rock work out of the way. Thinking of using a little aquarium epoxy to lock the rock cradle in place. Other than the lack of attachment I'm not seeing any signs of distress. It's not very sticky which concerns me quite a bit though.

So wedging another rock on the back side to support it helped. After a day it seemed to have attached. So I turned the gyre back on and everything seemed fine. Still in place that evening and the following morning(today). Got home from work to find it dislodged in the back tentacles down grrr. Gyre back off and nem back in place. Seems none the worse for wear but it certainly is frustrating.
