New mandarin not moving

Hey guys I just got a new mandarin, put him in not even 4 hours ago. Tank has pods and I also ordered a few cultures last night just so I would be doubly okay
Hes not moving at all,breathing but that's it
I did some reading and a lot of new ones do this, hes okay...... right?
Ps. Tank is over a year old

Looks like he’s sleeping. I’ve read they sleep like wrasses and use mucus to mask their scent.

Oh really?
Well I'm sure on a stressful shipping it just wanted to sleep. Maybe I interrupted and once he was out with lights off he went back to sleep
I mean he sure looks healthy

I would say stress. Just check up on him in the morning. How long did you acclimate? and which method did you use

Also its normal at night time for them to pick a spot at night and stay in the same spot till morning.

He was acclimated for 2 hours, I did order the guy online too so he was shipped
I used drip

Ok good good. Just check on him in morning and update the thread. He should move to a different spot by morning time otherwise then it would be an issue.

I checked before going to sleep and ge moved to a rock structure
I got other live stock in the shipment and they are all doing fantastic. No agression at all

Same spot as last night
But I worked so I woke up and left. I didn't even get to see the tank light up for more than 5 minutes

He's dead......
my last order from this place was a full DOA due to shipping delays... that had a beautiful mandarin in it too, now this one. Everyone else was healthy I don't think it's the company.....
I'm going to be honest, these loses.... my corals dying despite constant water changes, stability with chemical and temp and carbon
this is all just taking away from my day to day life and it's never ending......

I'm 95% sure he died because of acclimation method. Because of the 2 hour drip, the built up ammonia from the bag built up and oxidized and severely hurt him. Always use prime or just temp and drop in.

sorry to hear man, it's a tough hobby when things aren't going well.

i've had some recent fish deaths in QT myself. and i got dinos. and my corals decided to revolt and stop growing. sucks when you don't even know what happened.

perhaps I did act too cautiously
