Hi I picked up a 6 inch mappa on Friday, hes currently in qt and sits on the floor all day ignoring the shrimp, silversides and clam I give him. The most I've seen him is nibble at the shrimp and he once ate a small piece of the clam.

I have noticed behind his fins his body is very thin, I'm wondering if that's a sign of starvation (see pic, sorry about the quality as the glass isnt super clean and I dont want to frighten him with the cleaner)

All day I've seen him just sit on the floor breathing heavy at times.

I've been thinking of dropping some prazi pro in, any advice is appreciated

Do you have enough biofiltraion or any ammonia problems? Sounds like something is stressing him out.

No biofiltratrion, just a filter sock, ammonia and nitrites are good, nitrates are higher then I'd like but not bad - most of the water in the qt is brand new so idk why its not zero, ph is a little low

Have you tried garlic? Kent's garlic Xtreme got my tang to eat while in copper

Yes I have sea chems garlic, no luck with it either

No change as of yet

Does he have anything to hide in or around? Looks like PVC in the pic but not sure.

Hope he gets better. My valentini took about a week and a half to get his appetite back.

Yes he has the pvc pieces, dunno what could be wrong his eyes are clear, his fins whole :(
