Hello all, recently joined and expecting the delivery of my first Salt Water aquarium tomorrow after years of freshwater/CO2 setups.
Decided to go with the Red Sea Max E 260 after reading loads of positive reviews and threads on this forum. Always wanted a sump so decided to go for the optional upgrade.
Question is can I use the existing stock skimmer (that would normally be held in the rear sump) in the upgrade sump below?

Just spend an absolute fortune on all the gear so would like to avoid another £250 on the skimmer if its not required straight away. I did get a good deal on a return pump (the Jecod DCS-4000) so its just the skimmer. If its not possible I will not plumb the sump in yet until I get a skimmer.

Have loads of questions and will post my journey. Very excited!

Thanks

I like to setup my system with everything I need from the start.
Whats another few $ after what you spent.
You can definatly use the supplied skimmer though.
Take a look at the Tunze 9410 DC skimmer.
So under rated and is truely set and forget.
It took me a year to aquire all my equipment and im glad I did.
Almost went with a Redsea too.
Awesome looking tanks.
Start a build thread when you start.
And welcome....

Thanks very much. I find the investigation, research almost more than exciting than the actual upkeep so will be setting up a thread and looking for loads of feedback. Will take a look at the 9410.
