Hi NanaReefer,

Each Angel covers a 2' x 2' area. Unfortunately, 1 unit will not sufficiently cover a 36" aquarium. You would need two Angel fixtures or a 27" Maxspect Razor. Please give us a call at 800-566-3474 and we will be happy to give you further suggestions based on information about your aquarium and the type of corals you are planning to keep.
