And we like lots of pictures of fish tanks on here!

Yes absolutely everyone said if you do it find the biggest you could fit in your house and buy it lol

That's not my usual recommendation for new reefers, but it is something I've heard before.

It's not an inexpensive hobby, and as tank size increases, costs go up exponentially. I've seen folks fail, because they didn't realize that the expensive glass box is not going to be the end of it... in the end, it's not really even a major percentage of the full cost of a reef system. I've spent several times more on my current system than the original custom built glass box cost.

The other major investment, IMHO, a much more important one than money, is time. As a new reefer, you've got a fairly steep learning curve ahead. I've been at this since the early 80's... one of these days, maybe I'll have it all figured out :) Time to research tools and techniques, time to establish a healthy tank, time to maintain that tank... it's a hobby. That's what they're for, right? To consume your free time? This one does as good a job of that task as any hobby.

Nothing wrong with jumping in at the deep end... as long as you have some idea of what it is that you're jumping into!

Welcome aboard!
