so, I have a 10g reef, I just took out about 50% of the substrate and removed a large rock. I've also been using No3Po4X. I wake up from a nap today and all of my fish are dead, I only managed to save my yellow watchmen. However...all of my corals are thriving, my inverts are just fine. My water is slightly cloudy as well.
Ammonia- .2
Nitrite-.7
Nitrate- 30-40
Ph- 7.6

Ammonia and nitrites were undetectable prior, nitrates have stayed the same. Ph was previously 8.3
So have I overdosed on nopox or have I restarted my cycle?
Also my survivors are currently in a 1 gallon jug with a heater and power head.
Will they make it until I can get my water back? And what is the best way to return to normal.
I know I have a lot of questions but I'm only 3 months into this and I clearly don't know everything yet, any help is appreciated.

sounds like a bacteria bloom killed the fish

Taking so much of the substrate out at once is likely what did it. Did you siphon out the substrate or scoop it out? If you scooped it out that is a sure way to kill a tank. Siphoning out helps but you still have to take it slow and do a small amount at a time over a few weeks.

I’d do a few 5g water changes to get the ammonia out of there.

I scooped a bit then siphoned as well, everyone was happy and eating this morning after I did it then all of a sudden boom, I just find it strange only my fish didn't make it, my corals are ridiculously happy

I put nopox this morning in my tank, normal dosis ,i have a skimmer and good flow, two hours later my couple of loriculus was death
Not thinknit was a bacterial bloom as the other fish were ok and the corals also and no cloudy water ,probably a chemicals inside they were more sensible,i read other people had same problem

I really think you are just trying too many things. For a while at least, just do weekly water changes and don’t add any other chemicals, supplements, additives.... just let things stabilize.

Nitrate High, PH a little low and tank very new. Allow to properly cycle, why nitrate is high.
