New member intro

Hello reefers!

my name is Joel and I have been in the hobby for about 3 years now. My first tank was a 29 gallon aqueon, basic LED light strip, biowheel hob filter, one power head, and very little knowledge but the curiosity to learn more. After a year, I decided to take all that I have learned and researched and create a new build with an acrylic 40 breeder with 2 Kessil a160’s, a aquamax hob protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, and a tidal hob filter which I recently removed a couple months ago. I am about to start a new build using a Waterbox peninsula mini 15 in the next couple weeks! Looking forward on talking to other hobbyists and gain even more knowledge with all of you!

Hi Joel and Welcome! Glad you joined. GREAT LOOKING TANK!! You are well on your way.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

And now the new build thread is officially up!

Your badge should automatically appear once you go into your Account and settings and link your build thread to your account.

This is the info they gave me when I was new:
One fun way to learn from others and keep a record of your reef aquarium is to create your very own build thread! A build thread is just a thread that tells us about your aquarium and might include photos. You can create your build thread in one of these forums. MEMBER'S AQUARIUMS

Once you have created a build thread then you can get your VERY FIRST USER BADGE! YAY! It's easy to do and I have created a thread that tells you how to do it here: BUILD THREAD BADGE
