Hey there,
Just made a new account on here, I follow R2R on Facebook, but am seeking an organized forum dedicated to salt/reef aquariums.
I'll try to keep myself brief, I just set up an Innovative Marine: Fusion 50 gallon tank. This is my first saltwater aquarium and have a major interest in keeping coral mostly. I work at a LFS that specializes mostly in coral and saltwater fish, I'm only the freshwater aquarist there as we have a section for freshwater fish and live plants. I currently own a 55 gallon standard long planted community tank, a 15 gallon brackish paludarium for a red Thai crab, and my newest addition to the family, the IM: Fusion 50 I mentioned above.
A little story about how I got the set up... after a year of working at my LFS, I became pretty good friends with the manager, and a regular came in one day just giving away his set up. So my manager wired the offer to me for a free tank, stand, two ghost skimmers and a Tunze: Auto Top off system. The Gods have shined upon me.
Anyways, the tanks been up and running for about 6 weeks now, even though it is done cycling, I'm still proceeding with caution when the time comes for livestock. I still don't have lights, so no coral yet. Thinking about just starting with mushrooms and zoanthids as just a feeler and maybe a little Frostbite Ocellaris Clownfish just to add some liveliness to the tank.
I know I said I'd keep it brief so I'm gonna stop here, I look forward to visiting this forum quite often as I am still relatively new to owning a saltwater aquarium and will probably be desperate for resources.
Thank you for taking the time in reading my introduction. Happy Reefing!
