I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Welcome and big decision and sounds like it came out ok!

So far so good but it will all be judged based on whether I have a clean disease free tank after the live rock, sand and inverts are reintroduced. I’m beginning to wonder whether it would have been better to just dry out the rock and let it sit in the sun for a month rather than having gone fallow.

Welcome to R2R! I would have thought that pulling the rock and sand would be just as stressful as pulling the fish. Interesting concept.

I was worried about the same; however, I have previously pulled all fish to take smaller (90 gallon) tanks into fallow periods. Pulling fish and separating them into hospital tanks led to increased aggression on reintroduction which could also lead to tank deaths. This method allowed for the fish to maintain their established hierchy.

Everything went relatively well the first time around (last year). I added coral without quarantining it and had a ich outbreak. At that point I had to pull all of the fish and take the display fallow. Two days before the end of the fallow period I had a power outage and I lost five of my fish. Things have been stable since.
