Hello everyone, my name is Paul. I got my first fish I caught out of a wash when I was 9 years old. Ever since then I have loved fish. Had a Beta for 9 months, then my parents got a freshwater aquarium for me. I would sit there for hours and just watch the fish. I remember getting very emotional when one of the fish got sick and died. I was always interested in salt water fish, but it was a little hard for a kid to start one of those. Fast forward 24 years (5 years ago), I started a biocube 29. Very successful tank, added lots of items to it, even leds. Last month my pump failed and I lost everything except 1 Torch. A WEEK AFTER THAT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED... I STARTED THINKING OF AN UPGRADE. So hear I am, within 2 weeks I had my truck full of equipment I picked up from a wholesaler in Orange County. Now in my back room (supposed to be an office for my wife but somehow turned into my man cave), I have a 150 GALLON TANK and LOTS OF GOODIES. I'll be on here a lot for info!

Welcome to R2R and good luck with the upgrade. Start a building thread so we can all track your progress and you can look back on where it all started. Click the red link below.

Welcome to the Reef. You’ve come to the right place if you are looking for help and info.
And speaking of “room reassignments”, my formal dining room is now my fish room. Unfortunately a large cherrywood dining table is still taking up valuable real estate that I could be using for water mixing and such or better yet, another tank! Have fun with your upgrade!

Yes, a great place would be in our dining room. Better place for all to see when visiting. But wife said back room is better. And actually it is. Bathroom is a few feet away. I won't bother anyone during water changes, etc.

Welcome to R2R ! ! !

just having trouble logging into app. I logged in here using facebook, but the app doesn't have that option.
Don't use the app, the mobile page is much better :-)

Welcome to R2R. So much to know in a short period of time but at least you have your last tank as a warm up. Good news is the 150 should be much easier and stable than your 29.
