Just wanted to say hello. I am fairly new to reef aquariums but did have 3 years in freshwater aquariums. To start off I purchased a already established 120 gallon reef tank from a friend for a great deal. He is getting out of the trade due to retiring and wanting to travel and not have to worry about his tanks. The setup did not get the TLC that it needed for the past few months that he had it.
The tank is a 120 gallon long with dual overflow. Im running a 55 gallon refugium under the tank with a protien skimmer, live rock, 2 turbo snail, 3 hermit crabs, a bottle of pods, and a big ball of cheato. In the tank I have about 120 pounds of live rock, 3-1400 GPH powerheads, T-5 aqualight 8 bulb 72" fixture 10 hr 420/460nm with 8 hr daylight. Live stock include 2 convicts that are 12 inches+ each, a pajama cardinal, a clown, a hippo tang, 2 sand sifting starfish, a bunch of hermit crabs, 6 turbos, 3 grey branching hammers one with 18 heads one with 12 heads and the other with 10 heads, 2 green branching hammers one 3 headed and the other a single head. Coraline algae is growing all over the place on rocks and the glass.
