Nothing has intimidated me more than looking at everyone's amazing tanks! So much work and care into this fantastic hobby from you all.

Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm Lori Anne. Biloxi, Mississippi born and raised. 1st grade teacher and at the school I went to as a kid. It's hard not to get trapped on the Gulf coast.

I started this hobby nearly two years ago as a class pet for my room. I started with a five gallon tank, a small clown named pop tart, a mushroom and some star polyp. I found by spring break (after I added more and upgraded the tank) that I loved the tank more than my students and decided to bring my little ten gallon home so I could stare at it for hours. Also, so I could keep a better eye on it.

Two years later, I've learned a lot, I've killed a lot, but I'm understanding more. My favorite thing about this hobby is there is no tank that is the same and no one man that knows everything there is to know about the hobby. I still have a ten gallon but my goal is to fill my salt water tank with floor to top with vibrant colors of different corals. I have a lot of frags in my tank, but I'm slowly learning how to help them grow.

It was 87 today and sweltering, been trying to move to Canada for 10 years just can't make it happen, something always makes it impossible and we have to put it off! Someday no humidity, about 40 degrees is my fav temperature

Thanks so much! Feels good to have a place to ask questions and not pester my lfs boys. Lol

yeah I know what you mean... I think my petco hates me hahaha they run the other way when I walk in :D

now it seems like I know more about the hobby then they do.. it's amazing what you learn with some reading and talking with other people in the hobby :) its by far my favorite thing, always having something to learn and the hobby can get so technical that I don't think I'll ever learn a fraction of what can be learned
