Greetings all,
Just signed up here as i have set up my first SW tank (besides having one as a kid). My name is Steve and Im in southern Wisconsin. I purchased an oceanic biocube 29 and have it stocked up with live rock and sand. Its been running for a couple of weeks now and the numbers are looking good so i added a couple of small hermits and a couple of shrimp. Ill give it another couple weeks before anything else.

Setup is as follows
Oceanic Biocube 29
MJ 900 return pump
Hydor smart wave w/ 2 nano425 powerheads
Eheim Jager 100w heater
Tunze 9001 skimmer
InTank media basket(will be adding chemipure elite and purigen once its cycled.
RO/DI is on order

Ill be looking for an Apex in the near future so ill be watching the classifides, And i will eventually convert the hood to LED.

Just one of my hermit cleaning up a bit. Ill take a couple when i get home, Im not fully satisfied with how my live rock is situated yet haha.

Im still not happy with all of this. I need to break up the big chunk of dry rock and situate things.

I dropped in a couple of shells this morning and one of the crabs made a bee line for it and hopped in. Must not have been up to par as when i came home he was back in his other shell.

The peppermint shrimp, My skunk cleaner is hiding in the dark and i cant get a shot of him right now.

The little nem that was on this chunk of rock. Seems to be happy so far.

Steve...check out the thread below. Great information and examples of aquascaping. I don't usually comment on aquascaping because it is a personal thing. Just keep in mind flow and eventual coral placement. If you're not happy with it, I would recommend making the changes now before you fill it with life.

Just remember you are the only one that gets to look at it everyday so just make sure you like the final design, and it will meet your plans.

Today's Update
Please excuse the haze, its still cleaning up from my re organizing .

Thats at least 90% of the rock that was in there before just arranged better. There is more room for stuff now i think. The shrimp were not too happy with me but seem to like the new caves in there. I filled the middle chamber of my media basket with live rock rubble, Gonna wait to put the purigen and Chemi pure in the bottom.

I ordered an apex today and will go pick it up tomorrow! :D I do some automation stuff at work with plc's but by the time i got an inexpensive plc and hmi itd be the cost of the apex. And i would still need to buy the sensors, interfaces for them and build an output strip. let alone all the ladder logic. This was the better way to go
