I've had fresh water for decades and failed miserably with salt water once a long time ago, before the current abundance of knowledge that appears to have made reef keeping doable now. I'm diving in, have a Waterbox 130.4 ordered. I understand they are backlogged, so I'll read and learn more in the meantime while I wait patiently. I'm psyched.

Welcome to the A-Team. Sounds like you've got some time to research and ask questions. We're here to help. I'm kinda psyched for you. Glad to have you with us.

Welcome to the best reefing community online IMHO. :)
Welcome. I would start cycling rocks in a brute while you wait

And if you get a cheap 10 gal tank and start your quarantine/mediation process now, by the time the tank is cycled, you can start adding fish without the wait! Hehehe. Glad to have you with us LenG.

BTW - while you're waiting for your tank - maybe it would be an idea to share what happened to your last tank - so you can avoid whatever problem you had. I'm sure you will get lots of opinions

(PS - I hate the word share - I shoudl have said tell us)

It won't be a problem to keep from repeating my mistakes. I was doomed to failure. I think the success back then was mostly non-existent. My salt tank was operating almost 40 yrs ago. 55 long, undergravel filter, dead corals for decor, no cycling, tap water, only monitored salinity, temp, maybe pH (can't remember). I had an anemone, a starfish that died in short fashion, but the real downer was buying a large Naso Tang for $50 (a lot of money back then) that never ate and died in about 1 month. I appreciate all the welcome messages and encouragement.
