New Midas Blenny- still stressed and not eating

That's awesome! Midas blenny is one of my favorites. I never heard of one not eating for so long. i'm assuming it was eating when you weren't watching since it lived this long?

It must have been. Now it is showing a good strong appetite and is no longer shy.

One question: so a local reefer offered to give me a leopard wrasse. I went to pick it up and it was in rough shape. (lying on the bottom sideways). I had prepped my QT with a container of sand for it to dive into and the local person told me that hte fish was in good shape just that morning and maybe just needed some sand to bury itself as he had not provided any. So- against my better judgement i put it into my QT for a couple of hours. When it became obvious that it just wasn't doing well. i removed it and put it in a different QT where after another 6-7 hours it died. FWIW the local reefer said that used copper

I did the freshwater flukes test (none) and there were no ich or velvet like spots. I am of course paranoid now.

My plan was to do prazi and a very long QT period and only if i observed anything wrong would use copper. (I don't have copper right now, have heard it can be rough on fairy wrasses and don't have a copper test). I was planning on a QT for as long as possible (7-8 weeks).

But now that i had a dying fish in there for 2 hours i am not sure if i should treat just in case.

good idea. i wasn't planning on putting these fish into the DT for at least another 7-8 week period as i consider the clock restarted.

Would you recommend i treat with Prazi, or should i wait? I am reluctant to do copper, but will try if people think it necessary

I would treat with prazi 2x, 5-7 days apart. And then let the black molly be your guide as whether or not to treat with copper. If any external parasites are present, the molly should show white dots within 30 days. The molly is your "canary fish" - it is much more susceptible to SW diseases than the other fish.

with the fairy wrasse should i ramp up to therapeutic dose for prazi, or is full strength right away? (i have sadly already fallen for the wrasse).

You can split the dosage in half, but I'd only wait a few hours before reaching therapeutic.

so only use 1/2 the recommended dosage, but go ahead and get it to that level in a couple hours then. Thanks!

oh wait. i think i understand, get to the full dosage amount, but split it so it reaches it in a couple of hours.

Yes

The dosage for Prazipro is 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons. So if your QT is 20 gals, dose 1/2 teaspoon now and another 1/2 teaspoon in 3-4 hours. Or 1/4 teaspoon every hour for the next 4 hours. ;)

Doing really well I should have him out of QT soonish. both the wrasse and blenny are doing great! Eating well good coloration and swimming in the tank
