I ordered two different monti caps from the same store, and paid for 2 of each because I had asked for a bigger frag then I would normally get, the package came today, one bag had leaked out entirely and the monti cap had very little water in the corner of one side, and was in about 3-6 little pieces, and I'm not sure what to do with all of the pieces. the other...I'm just not sure what to even think or feel about this.
There is just so much going on (green algae, bristle worms, vermented snails, maybe??)
I'm not sure what I'm even looking at....and I'm still fairly new to saltwater aquariums and corals, so I'm just looking for a little advice. I dipped both and They are currently in my QT tank, and I'm not sure I even want to put this in my main tank.
Both corals are very slimy and still having a ton of stringy stuff, I'm assuming from stress.

many advice would be appreciated!

That's pretty typical of a frag. Organisms prefer to live on or around corals. Dipping will remove some of them but not all. You can leave as is after dipping and mount or if you want extra precautions you can frag just the coral at the base and toss the plug.

Slime is normal after shipping stress

Yes, slimming is good. They are stressed but alive.
You put them in qt also good.
What I would do is take pictures and contact seller about your concerns. Tell them they are in qt and they are alive at this point. It's just to give him a heads up and some feed back on the badging process he uses. If one of both don't make it, he knows the bag broke.

Those are some pretty a** frags. Do you have pics of what you were expecting? Contact the seller with your concerns and see what he/she will do. I would not be impressed

That's why I was asking for other's opinions, I was not sure if maybe my standards were too high!?? Also, being that I paid almost $300 for this frag and another that came with almost no water in the bag, and is half the size of this one...
I will attach photos of the pictures from the post, although it was not WYSIWYG , I was still expecting something that would closely resemble the posted pictures...

Based on the pictures you posted this is not a usual starting point for a new frag. It actually looks like part of this had died and rest struggled to survive but regrew a new lobe. It would be more aligned to a $20 piece than a $100+ piece.

dang, that’s rough. Did you not ask for a picture of your frag immediately before shipping? I’d be ticked… see what the seller will do. Seems like he she/has plenty of the coral you bought so maybe if you simply cover shipping it wouldn’t be too much for them to send you more frags at no cost?

Too many ppl buy frags from dinky sellers. Pest infested frags. Disappointment. When I sell, I send ppl pics of the frag in water, out of water, in the shipping container, partially packed, fully packed. I’ll send videos of the frag so buyers can buy with confidence.

I hope I get some new frags to replace the ones sent. I’m sry to say but the corals pictured from seller do not command that price. If u were a local reefer I’d gladly donate some monti caps to your tank.
