I was leaning towards the same conclusion, unfortunately My tank is a biocube 32 with the stock light, not so sure the light will be strong enough, and I don’t really have a elevated spot for it either .From the pic it looks like it’s the encrusting type
That’s not a bad idea, but it’s like a permanent kinda deal. Well I suppose anywhere you put it is permanent being that it’s encrustingYou could glue it near the top on the back wall.
I have a few glued to my overflow.

On the bottom? Wouldn’t sand tick it off? A new light is Gonna have to wait awhile longer. I think on the back wall has its merits, but I’ll try it out on a rock temporarily If it’s looking ticked off I’ll move it up higherYou could always get a stronger light and put them on the bottom like this digi monti.
