New montipora losing color, is it dying?

i bought a Monti yesterday and put it in my tank, it looked fine. Today it’s all faded and not nearly as vibrant. Any ideas on what caused this? I’m wondering if it was light shock, if it is can it recover?

Could just be acclimating. Tank looks new, make sure the parameters stay stable.

Do they normally fade when you first introduce it? I have other sps that is doing decent, and didn’t fade like that.

Depending on species, tank it came from, parameters, yes. IME montipora took longest to acclimate with some turning brown to a light fade. I pick a spot and leave it be. If I don't see flesh coming off I don't intervene.

This is a pretty dumb question but I’m pretty new to sps and Montis in particular, how do I know if it’s losing tissue?

There will a pretty solid contrast between the flesh and the white skeleton if its losing tissue.

Definitely not a dumb question. Like answered above, you'll see a noticeable contrast between skeleton and tissue.
