My local store ( a friend of mine) ordered me some idols. I wanted big, fat and healthy. The bigger one in this pic does not reflect his actual size. My best guess is, she is 6" wide by 9" tall. He got me two of the same size and I was going to take both, but the second one was not eating anything. They have been there about a month. The only thing I saw her eat was dead fish, so I passed. I have them both in QT and the bigger one is eating nori and the other smaller one is eating mysis and raw oyster eggs. I am going to try and get fresh clams today and see if they will eat them.

The angel is my holy grail. I looked for a long time. The picture is taken in the stores QT system. He eats everything and is much bigger then I anticipated, but absolutely beautiful fish.

Congrats! Interruptus is a great score, one of my all time favs. On my very short list of fishes I will have in the future ;)

For what it's worth, I would not recommend attempting multiple idols in the same aquarium, unless we're talking a swimming pool sized aquarium. I have two very experienced friends in the hobby that have attempted it and while it worked initially, things went downhill quickly. One of the aforementioned friends (John Coppolino) will mix just about anything and has one of the most phenomenal angel collections in the world.

Ive done multiples before, until velvet wiped almost everything out. I know a lot of people say don't do pairs, others say to do it. Im going to give it a shot. Unfortunately, the big female still isn't eating much. I put a fresh live clam in and the smaller one is going back and forth eating it.

Great fish! I LOVE that angel!

Wow gorgeous man! What kind of angel? Surprised I do not know!

Are the idols eating well? Glad you got some new ones.

The big one is not yet. I took it anyway. They were being held at my friends store, for almost a month. She doesn't appear to have lost any weight. I made sure he put nori in there every day. She was with a second one of the same size, about 5 kole tangs and some other smaller idols. The smaller ones were all eating.

Can anyone recommend any type of sponge for moorish's?
I just grab pineapple sponge from my DT (small rock with it) it tends to grow slightly out of sight or direct light. Sometimes in sump as well if you have rock there.

I also feed Angel Formula both by Hikari and Ocean Nutrition (both frozen and have sponge)

I think Im screwed. The little one has at least tried to eat everything I've put in the tank and it's been a lot.
Mysis
Raw Oyster Eggs
Fresh live clams
Hikari angel blend
Live brine
Live blackworms

The big one occasionally just picks on nori, which has not been a lot.

Anyone else have suggestions? I just picked up a Katherines Fairy Wrasse in hopes that "maybe" seeing another fish eat, it might spark them. The smaller one seems to really love oyster eggs at least.

Seeing the smaller one eat is probably far more powerful. Switch up the nori offerings. I buy red ocean nutrition nori in bulk on Amazon and my idol tears in to that harder than the traditional green stuff I get at the grocer as do my tangs and angels.

Bro, you might have given me (and the fish) a chance here. I bought the red nori today and they both are eating it like crazy. The big one also has started eating fish/oyster eggs!

Yup. Told you man. Red nori is GOLD for tangs, idols, foxface, and even many angels. Buy that stuff in bulk. I don't know what it is but they love it. If I recall red algae exists in Hawaiian waters and that's where idols are collected? I could be totally off base I just know that it works!

You can send my payment to my paypal! :D. Kidding. I hope they do fantastic for you!

I might have to pay you for your time.
