Anyone know if Ecotech will be coming out with a new MP40 in the near future?

LOL .... sorry, that was clear as mud.

No new MP40 coming as far as I can tell. They recently added mobius compatibility to the vortech pumps, but that was just a wireless card swap and firmware. Not something I’d call a new model. Certainly nothing of the order of the quiet drive (now 5 years ago).

Ya, that's why I would think a new one would be due...maybe with a lower profile.

It’s highly unlikely that a new version of the MP series pumps is coming anytime soon.

Ecotech is focused on other areas of the hobby. Mobius is just the beginning of what I believe is a step into a controller based system. Also the Versa pump is another area they are tweaking. They have no need to fix something that isn’t broken.

Not fixing....updating. Nearly every company does so....they update their lights pretty often.

Then you need to be clearer about what you are asking. ETM recently made a running change with updated firmware. I would not consider that material since it’s easy enough to update older pumps. Some time before that they started putting a different wireless card into the driver. You can easily swap out the new card, so I’d not view that as material either. If they were to redesign the wetside, it’d be backwards compatible so ......

Hard to see what opportunity exits for a completely new pump. I would not expect one and not worry about it.

They can make one with a lower profile, quieter, more GPH, stronger magnet, better quality magnet, etc....

My suggestion is to send them a email via their portal. No one on this board knows for sure. It is all speculation until we read or hear something on social media or at a trade show should they ever startup again.

For what it is worth they sort of have a new product or products as Ecotech Marine and Aquaillumination merged not to long again. Nero line of pumps would be somewhat new or updated in 2020 for example.

If you want more GPH or one that can handle a thicker wall .... it’s called the MP60. Hard to make it quieter than it already is. I suppose a lower profile dryside is a possibility, but would folks really care all that much. I wouldn’t be holding your breath LOL.
