Hey, so I have to get rid my possum wrasse in my 24g because of my clownfish. Any ideas on a possible new fish that can withstand aggression or not get picked on. My bicolor blenny is bigger than the two and never is bothered so I was thinking about some sort of fang blenny. Would that work out? Or have any other suggestions?
Thanks

Firefish work well in small environments, but they are small so your clown may wind up bullying it.

Problem isn't necessarily your choice of fish. Its the territorial nature of a mated pair of clowns and they are jerks that will fiercely defend what they think is their turf. It sounds like your pair has already "claimed" the whole tank so I don't think your issue the choice of fish.

I have a pair of clown + 4 other fish on a 30L and they all coexist "peacefully" in the sense that everyone stays in their established turf. This will be the situation for any mix of fish + clowns in a nanno tank. If there isn't overlapping turf, any fish can work, if clown already claimed the whole tank, nothing will work.

I suggest with the next fish you add - pick one based on ur preference like color, personality, etc, "toughness against bully" is helpful but not required. When you add the new fish, change your rockscape completely. If possible try to use rock to divide the tank into new "partitions" or zones. If your clowns already is hosting an anemone or coral, move that to one of the smaller new zones. With some luck it will trick the clowns into reestablishing their turf on only the new small zone, leaving your other fish more freedom to swim around without harassment.

You can also try to remove the clowns temporarily for a week or so while your new fish get acclimated. Then place the clown back in a new landscape.
I had a problem with an aggressive damsel, which I place in "jail" by placing a divider in a small portion of the tank.. After I removed the divider she was no longer a problem to the new fish.

Yeah I tried this (with a new fish now) and it somewhat worked. I might have to try it a little longer though because the clowns are still a little aggressive.

I had a pair of clowns in a 29g that eventually killed anything put with them. They were a fully mating adult pair. When I put them in a 210g, they also tried to kill everything put into it. I eventually had to give them to someone that wanted the mating pair on their own.
My other pairs have not been quite so nasty. It will depend on the pair.
