Hi, I have a newly cycled Nano reef tank and was looking for suggestions for corals and fish that I could keep in here. If you have any suggestions please let me know and if corals I'd appreciate where you would think they would look best. The lighting in this photo is wonky.

what size of that is that? looks like a 10 or 20H?
reef are fun eh?

what lighting do you have? that will determine if you can keep SPS and other high light corals.
I am a big fan of LPS and soft corals they just do it for me.

look around at other reefs nanos in particular and see what you like. go slow and start off with east ans cheap corals ( just not once that will take over the tank like GPS cloves and the like.)

another option is and you dont see many of these but I really like them in a marine planted IE. macro algae tank there pretty hardy easier to keep ( kind of) cool colors not as many as corals tho but it is a fun tank.

I have a rock flower new, nano click my "build thread " badge under my name if you want to see it.

You'll need to be careful with coral selection because your flow is low. Anything with low flow and easy care requirements like mushrooms, blastos.

The tank is a ten gallon. Yeah reefs are pretty fun, I love the setup process. The light is a new (got it a week ago!) Sea & Marine (15" - 24") Spectrum Bluetooth LED (22 watt) - Fluval is it good enough for high light corals and does the lighting color matter that much if so what do you reccomend? Thanks for the reply!

I have a 20gal nano and mix of corals.
Most have been okay in my tank. Acans have been flourishing and mushrooms have been great too. I like the acans because there are a million colors and can grow around each other usually and not kill each other.
Fish wise I like my benghai cardinal. The shape and black stripes and swimming style are kind of unique.

The best piece of advice is go sllowwwwww...
My biggest mistake and almost everyone else's is you get 10 corals and 4 fish right away and it crashes your tank.
Start with 1-2 corals and maybe one fish and slowly add stuff over months.
That way if stuff happens you can have time to respond

Thanks for the advice, do you think I could start off with 1 or 2 pieces of coral, 1 small fish and a few shrimp?

The tank is a ten gallon with a 20-50 gallon rated aqueon filter on it. Thanks for the reply!

Got it thanks. I think that is still low flow in a coral world since it's a drop down filter and not a jet propelled. The easy care corals would do wonderfully.

With 10gal you could probably start slow with 1 fish and a shrimp and perhaps a few snails. I would keep it light at first. Even though the tank is cycled the full biosphere hasnt been developed yet. That was the mistake I made in my 20 gal. I got 2-3 fish and a bunch of inverts all at once so it shocked the system. It didnt crash but my parameters did go a little hay wire and I lost a few fish. Plus there isnt a ton of food in the tank yet for a lot of inverts unless you supplement.
1 cheap coral frag probably couldnt hurt too much either. I would stay $15 or under for a frag until you get 1-2 of them under your belt. Once you have a few surviving for a few months you can work your way up.
There are cheap ones that have cool colors and shapes (Candy Canes, some Acans, kenya tree, zoas, etc...) All are pretty hardy. Read up on zoas though if you go that route to learn about the palytoxins though.
Avoid Pulsing Xenia and GSP (Green star Polyps). PRetty cool but will most likely take over your tank.
