I have a 55 gallon reef tank thats been up for about 2 years and decided to get another tank. I bought a 12 gal biocube with T5 24w x2 lighting. Ive only ever used LED and have no experience with T5, would that be enough for a BTA? If i use some water from my 55 gallon and maybe a small rock will the 12 gallon be cycled immediately? Im using a little skimmer that came with an old 29 gal biocube i had, bio balls, and a sponge, is that enough filtration for a small tank? Thanks

I dont know about your cycling speed and amount of rock and all that but my BTA is kept under T5 and its doing great

T5s are great for growing nems. Mine never had the bubble tips until I switched to LEDs for some reason though.
Im not too worried about the bubble tips i have 5 in my 55 gal that all have them. Would that low of watts be enough for a nem though?

I feel like that will be plenty of light for an 18 gallon tank. Problem with only using 2 t5S your light spectrum will be very limited

Are there certain bulbs i should get that can help with the spectrum?

I guess that really depends on your preference. Do you want a bluer tank or more of a full spectrum? Cause there's t5s that hit pretty much every color you can imagine. Giesman and ATI make pretty good bulbs. I'd look into them

Just checked what bulbs were in it and if they work, very dim so im guessing theyre bad. They say "TRUELUMEN T5HO 18 watt power white" and the other says "T5HO 18 watt 460nm actinic blue". I think im going to go with the same bulbs, just cant find a 16 inch bulb anywhere online
