What about these?? new for me also!!!

Both appear to be True Green PE. The upper one looks like it was kept in very high lighting, hence the speckling on the oral disc. High light will have to be maintained in order to retain the speckles on new polyps. Since they are recent acquisitions, it will be interesting to see what happens to the coloration over the long run in the same system. I had a couple different color morphs of the TGPE, and they retained their respective color differences for well over a year in the same system.

Here's a link to a article on speckling as a result of lighting;

I don't think they were kept in any lighting, except natural sunlight!! This distributor tends to import wild colonies and so they seemed when I bought them! do you think this is why the speckles aren't seen usually seen in captivity??

When I had gpe's and had them under 250watt mh, they didn't get the speckleing normally associated with ppe's, they just faded.

Interesting Article!! I'll be looking to see if the new growth has the speckles or not, to determine if it is due to lighting or phenotype. thanks for the link

Mine I got from PR Reefes 1 with speckles and 1 with out and are clearly not the same. Now having a frag of both I can clearly see they are different. I think the specled 1 should be named green magicians.

Wow, I really like those.
thanks...

oh wow those are insane. i love the speckles! do you only have those 4?
Well... I have a 7 polyp colony in my tank .... sold 5(slkotara).... and have this 4 polyp frag hanging around lol

Oh and by the way PR Reefer Thank You so I love them.
...:wink: you're welcome.... hope you enjoy them for many years to come. btw I did think about green magicians it was what first popped into my min... anyways how would one go about naming a paly? so as to make it official...
