hello people.. i've been a lurker here (among many other "fishy" forums ), and have just registered.. i'm not really new to reefkeeping, as i've been in the hobby for 13yrs (on some occasions on and off ).. i've always been fascinated by reef tanks (although i started with kois and goldfish, who didn't anyway?), but got really really hooked with marine aquaria.. i didn't really go for big tanks as the usual recommendation for newbies, due to cost and didn't really have the funds to back it up that time.. and for this reason, i haven't got a tank bigger than 35g so i've been a nano guy ever since.

just to share my previous tanks (didn't have pix of my actual 1st few reef tanks, as the Net was just almost starting that time ), so here's the tanks that i actually got threads for:

1st tank:
1st tank.jpg

this was established way back 2007, and kept it for several years.. had to dismantle it 2009 as had to leave the hobby for abit.. but really learned a lot from this setup.. this was the setup:

DT: 35g ready made tank
ST: 20g ready made tank
Lights: T5s on DIY wood canopy
Circulation: Sunsun 3k
Filtration: Old Queen Skimmer with Chaeto
Cooling: DIY DC fans
ATO: DIY ATO

2nd tank:
2nd tank.jpg

didn't really leave the hobby that long, as i got this setup 2010.. met a lot of reef buddies in our new area that eventually became best of friends who helped me stock up my nano.. bought the initial setup from a previous reefer, so i just made some little DIYs.

DT: 14g ready made tank
ST: 20g ready made tank
Lights: Maxspect 110
Circulation: Mp10
Filtration: RO NW-110
Cooling: N/A
ATO: RO ATO

3rd and current tank:

the upgrade bug took a bite off me and so i upgraded to this custom made cube. the plan literally took 3 months to materialize, as i didn't want to rush things, plus some materials i needed were hard to come by in our new area. this was online last june 1, 2012. unfortunately, i had to take this down and sell it to my friend due to some financial issues. i hope to be back in the hobby by end of the year  funny thing is, the guy buying this tank is the guy i actually bought the 2nd tank from! lol

DT: 24 x 24 cube on 10mm tempered glass
ST: 20 x 20 cube with 3 chambers and water reserve for ATO
Lights: 1st gen Radion on Artificial 20k settings for 7hrs a day
Circulation: 2x Mp10
Filtration: BM NAC 3.5 Cone
Cooling: N/A
ATO: RO ATO

hope to share the next tank this year, so will be planning ahead for it  thanks for looking guys

I like these little tanks, if I had an office, I would deff have one in it.

What are your plans for your new tank? You going big this time? Looks like you run out of room pretty fast with the nanos

i honestly havent thought of the new tank yet, but i definitely won't be going big. its kinda hard and takes quite a while to stock up big tanks, plus its kinda hard to keep a big tank in Dubai. some materials have to be ordered online and on some occasions, need to relocate, so might settle for a big tank when we're permanently residing back home or when i retire.. hahah
